Italian Design Shows Cersaie and EuroCucina Open Applications and Unveil New Kitchen Trends for 2026
Ceramics of Italy announced the Destination: Cersaie program for 2026, offering North American architects, interior designers, kitchen and bath designers, developers, builders and contractors a free four‑night, CEU‑accredited trip to the Cersaie exhibition in Bologna, Italy, scheduled for September 21‑25, 2026. The application deadline is June 16, 2026. Organized by Confindustria Ceramica in partnership with the Italian Trade Agency, the initiative covers round‑trip economy airfare, hotel accommodation and curated tours of Italian tile manufacturers, factories and design showcases.
At EuroCucina 2026, kitchen and appliance designers presented a shift from the traditional, efficiency‑focused kitchen to a more restorative, spa‑like environment. Brands such as LG, GamFratesi, Fisher & Paykel, Scandolini, Whirlpool and Miele displayed collections featuring natural stone, wood veneers, soft rounded forms and earthy palettes, emphasizing calm, ritualistic cooking experiences. Smart features were marketed as tools for peace of mind rather than mere performance, with messaging like “Cooking like a session of meditation.”
