Italian digital users seek less online time to improve well-being
A study conducted by Factanza Media and Ipsos Doxa reveals a growing desire among Italians to reduce their time spent online. The research, which surveyed 3,551 individuals from Generation Z and Millennials, indicates that 94% of people aged 18 to 45 have expressed a wish to decrease their digital exposure at least once.
Findings show that digital fatigue is driven not just by total hours connected, but by the constant fragmentation of attention caused by continuous social media scrolling and overlapping notifications. The need to disconnect is particularly pronounced among young women, with 58% of those aged 18 to 30 reporting a frequent need to reduce their digital presence to regain focus and mental well-being.
