Italian dioceses announce new pastoral guidelines for 2026-2027

Italian dioceses have released new pastoral guidelines for the 2026-2027 year, focusing on spiritual accompaniment and community engagement.

The Diocese of San Miniato has introduced a series of seven study guides centered on the Gospel of Mark. This biblical reference, selected in a February pastoral letter, aims to help the community compare modern life with the experiences of the first disciples. The program includes structured reflections for Advent and Lent, designed to be implemented through various community meetings and workshops.

In the Diocese of Mileto-Nicotera-Tropea, Bishop Attilio Nostro has issued a pastoral letter titled ‘In cammino con la famiglia anche nelle situazioni di complessità – Cercare, accogliere, ascoltare, accompagnare’. Drawing on the biblical episode of the Wedding at Cana, the document addresses the challenges and suffering faced by families. The guidance emphasizes God's presence in daily life, the importance of treating fragility without judgment, and the role of the Christian community in supporting those in need. The text was developed following a synodal listening process involving various pastoral zones and the diocesan presbytery.
