Italian dioceses appoint new priests to reorganized parishes
Several Italian dioceses are undergoing pastoral reorganizations through the appointment of new clergy to consolidated communities.
In the Diocese of Cesena-Sarsina, Archbishop Antonio Giuseppe Caiazzo presided over the installation of Don Andrea Budelacci. He will serve as the new parish priest for the newly unified communities of San Giovanni Battista, Madonna delle Rose, and San Bartolo. The Archbishop noted that these changes respond to territorial needs and a decreasing number of priests, calling on laypeople to take on greater responsibility in the mission of the Church.
In the Archdiocese of Turin, the city of Carmagnola is preparing for the official arrival of new co-parish priests, Don Mario Fassino and Don Stefano Carena, on October 10, 2026. The event, representing Pastoral Unit 53, will include an institutional greeting, a procession, and a solemn Mass presided over by Cardinal Roberto Repole. To facilitate the unified celebration, scheduled masses in the city's churches will be suspended for the day.
