Italian dioceses host pastoral assemblies on faith and community
Various Italian dioceses are organizing pastoral assemblies to discuss the role of the Church in modern society.
The Diocese of Nola will hold a two-day conference on September 11 and 12, 2026, titled “Gospel and Life: parishes with open arms in the territory.” Led by Bishop Francesco Marino, the event is inspired by guidelines for the synodal path of Italian churches. The program includes a presentation by Archbishop Gianpiero Palmieri and an introduction to the SERMIG missionary youth service.
In Pavia, the second diocesan assembly of Oratories is scheduled for September 19. Focused on the theme “Oratory and the announcement of faith today,” the meeting aims to address evangelization and the educational role of youth communities. Bishop Corrado Sanguineti and youth ministry expert Michele Falabretti will lead discussions on how to engage new generations within changing social and cultural contexts.
