Italian dioceses implement new pastoral leadership and structural changes
The Catholic Church in Italy is implementing several leadership and structural changes across different dioceses.
In the Diocese of Mantua, a new pastoral structure went into effect on September 1. This reorganization, announced by Bishop Marco Busca in June, aims to strengthen priestly fraternities and service within pastoral units, parishes, and diocesan services. Key appointments include Don Nicola Ballarini as the moderator and parish priest for the Visitazione pastoral unit, and Don Giampaolo Ferri departing the Riviera del Po unit to pursue a doctorate in Padua.
In the Diocese of Vittorio Veneto, Bishop Riccardo Battocchio has announced new appointments. Luciano Moro has been named the new director of the diocesan office for social, labor, justice, peace, and care for creation. Moro brings extensive experience in professional training and international cooperation. Additionally, Don Andrea Forest will continue as the bishop's delegate for social pastoral work while also coordinating charitable activities, and Don Marco Favret has been appointed as the bishop's delegate for consecrated life.
