In the Diocese of Acireale, Bishop Antonino Raspanti will lead a pilgrimage and diocesan mandate for catechists at the Sanctuary of Valverde on September 19, 2026. The event includes a procession and a solemn Eucharist intended to renew the commitment of pastoral workers to their educational roles within local parishes.

In the Diocese of Melfi-Rapolla-Venosa, Bishop Ciro Fanelli has called for a Pre-Synodal Assembly of catechists across four pastoral zones in September 2026. This assembly aims to consult with clergy and catechists regarding the definitive approval of the Liturgical-Pastoral Directory for Christian Initiation, following a three-year experimental period. The goal is to evaluate the effectiveness of the directory in fostering a unified style of faith communication and synergistic community work.
