Italian diver Matteo Santoro wins two golds and moves to Miami for studies and Olympic training

Italian diver Matteo Santoro secured two gold medals in 2026, first at the Indoor National Championships in Turin and later at the European Championships in Paris, where he competed alongside teammate Chiara Pellacani.

He has relocated to Miami on a university scholarship to study economics while continuing his diving training. In Miami he trains with Pellacani, follows a strict superstitious routine before and between dives, and aims to qualify for the Olympic Games. Santoro discussed his daily schedule, academic commitments and personal rituals on Luca Dotto’s "Camera Di Chiamata" podcast.
