Italian Eccellenza clubs launch preseason training and friendlies

The amateur football club Fucecchio Calcio has confirmed its squad for the 2026‑27 season, keeping head coach Giacomo Menichetti and focusing on a reduced budget that emphasizes local youth talent under president Luca Lazzerino. The roster includes returning players such as goalkeeper Tommaso Del Bino and defender Francesco Mariani, and the team will play a series of preseason friendlies against Sangiovannese, Lastrigiana, Castelfiorentino and Cenaia.

Across the region, several other Eccellenza sides have resumed preparations on Monday, 3 August. Cuneo Calcio, Albese, Centallo, Cheraschese, Monregale and Pro Dronero began training under their respective coaches, while Fossano Calcio started its sessions a day earlier. The clubs are gearing up for the upcoming season after the summer break, with Moretta expected to join the league pending official confirmation.
