Italian educational initiatives promote legality and historical memory

Educational initiatives in Italy have focused on promoting legality and historical memory through commemorative events and cultural activities.

In Camastra, students from the San Giovanni Bosco Comprehensive Institute participated in an event centered on the theme of legality. The program included a theatrical performance titled ‘I siciliani’, directed by Lella Falzone, which addressed the presence of the mafia in Sicily and honored victims such as Judge Rosario Livatino and Judge Antonino Saetta.

In Rome, students from the Igino Petrone Comprehensive Institute of Campobasso attended the closing ceremony of the VIII Festival del Diritto at the Pontifical Augustinianum Institute. The event commemorated the 83rd anniversary of the sacrifice of Carabinieri Vice Brigadier Salvo D’Acquisto, who saved 22 civilians in 1943. The gathering included academic, military, and ecclesiastical figures, aiming to use historical memory as a tool for teaching civic responsibility and courage to younger generations.
