Italian educators hold forums on the evolving meaning of teaching

Educational professionals in Italy are engaging in discussions regarding the evolving role and emotional state of teachers at the start of the new school year.

At a pedagogical event in Andria, writer and CPIA official Paolo Farina presented ‘L’arte di insegnare, ovvero d’essere felici’ (The Art of Teaching, or Being Happy). The presentation emphasized that personal happiness is a necessary condition for effective education, suggesting that visionary teachers must look beyond mere instruction to truly nurture students.

Additionally, a webinar titled ‘Magnifici insegnanti’ (Magnificent Teachers) is scheduled for October 8, 2026. Organized by Tuttoscuola, Scholas Occurrentes, and the EIS School of Advanced Training at LUMSA University in Rome, the session aims to explore the deeper meaning of the teaching profession. The event will incorporate the educational legacy of Pope Francis and feature various testimonies to encourage educators to reflect on their purpose within the school system.
