Italian Embassy launches photography contest in Dominican Republic

The Embassy of Italy in the Dominican Republic has officially launched the first edition of the photography contest titled ‘Instantes de Italia: Italia a través de la mirada dominicana’ (Moments of Italy: Italy through the Dominican gaze). The initiative aims to strengthen cultural ties between Italy and the Dominican Republic through art, creativity, and photography.

During the presentation, Ambassador Sergio Maffettone emphasized that the contest provides an opportunity to deepen the historical and cultural relationship between the two nations while fostering the talent of Dominican photographers. The event also featured a message from Celinés Toribio, executive director of the Institute of Dominicans and Dominicans Abroad (INDEX), highlighting the importance of initiatives that promote identity and cultural exchange.
