Italian Emotional Education Conferences Highlight Neuropsychology in Cassino and Lipari

On 12 June, the Teatro Manzoni in Cassino hosted a novel “conference‑show” on emotional education organised by the theatre, the University of Cassino and the municipality. Director Marco Pagano combined scientific presentations by Prof. Simone Digennaro and psychologists Ana Maria Sepee and Anna De Simone with theatrical sketches to illustrate how emotions shape identity and well‑being. Over 200 people attended, including parents, educators and caregivers, and the event emphasized the need for emotional literacy in families and schools.

A week earlier, on 8 June, the I.C. Lipari S. Lucia held a parallel meeting titled “The Emotion of Learning” at the Hotel Aktea. Prof. Daniela Lucangeli from the University of Padova presented neuropsychological research on how emotional states affect memory and learning, stressing empathy and acceptance as key drivers of knowledge. The session also addressed digital education, with Prof. Dianora Bardi discussing responsible technology use. Local authorities, the regional government and the Order of Psychologists supported the event, which drew more than 200 teachers, administrators and families.

Both gatherings underscored a growing Italian focus on integrating emotional awareness with educational practice, aiming to improve student outcomes and social cohesion.
