Italian exhibitions explore technology's impact on architecture and humanity

Two distinct art and history exhibitions are opening in Italy. At the Museum of Electrical Technology of the University of Pavia, the exhibition ‘Macchine verticali. Gli ascensori e l’invenzione dello spazio contemporaneo’ will run from November 3, 2026, to March 31, 2027. The showcase explores how the elevator transformed architecture, urban skylines, and modern living, featuring an original scale model of a Stigler elevator.

In Rome, artist Enzo Aiello presents ‘DIS+UMANO’ at the Musei di San Salvatore in Lauro from October 20 to November 27, 2026. Curated by Lorenzo Canova, the exhibition features 32 works, including mosaics that integrate modern technological components like microchips and motherboards into traditional materials. The collection explores the tension between human essence and the rise of digital algorithms and artificial intelligence.
