Italian families and schools prioritize digital education and smartphone restrictions
In Busca, the 'Patto Digitale di Comunità' (Community Digital Pact) has been officially launched to address the relationship between children and the digital world. The project, initiated by Buscaprende, brings together families, schools, and local educational entities to foster digital literacy and responsible usage.
During the project presentation at Cinema Lux, educators and experts emphasized that digital education cannot be the sole responsibility of schools. They noted that families play a central role, as children learn primarily through the daily examples set by adults.
A report by the Centro Internazionale Studi Famiglia (CISF) highlights broader trends in Italian education and family expectations. The study, which surveyed 1,627 families, shows significant support for restricting technology in classrooms, with 68.8% of respondents approving a ban on smartphones in school. Furthermore, over 80% of Italian families believe schools should strengthen digital skills training, including the conscious use of artificial intelligence.
