Italian families increasingly view study abroad as professional investment

Italian families are increasingly viewing studying abroad as a strategic educational and professional investment rather than a mere expense. This shift in perception is driven by the long-term benefits students gain, including improved language skills, increased autonomy, and greater confidence in the labor market.

Vanessa Rota, CEO of Mlc Education, notes that word-of-mouth among families has become a primary driver for this trend. Students returning from international programs often demonstrate enhanced talents and skills that are highly valued by Anglo-Saxon style universities.

According to the Astoi Confindustria Viaggi Observatory, the most requested format is a full academic year abroad, followed by semesters and trimesters. Within Europe, preferred destinations include Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Spain. Outside of Europe, the United States remains the top choice, followed by Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
