Italian Family Minister's husband missing after lake dive near Rome

Luigi Cavalari, the husband of Italy's Minister for Family Affairs Eugenia Rotsella, disappeared after falling into Lake Vico, about 80 kilometres north‑west of Rome. The minister reported the incident when the couple were on a boat and Cavalari did not surface.

Rescue teams including Carabinieri, fire brigade divers and a helicopter from the Carabinieri aviation unit were dispatched to search the lake. Officials have not yet located Cavalari, and the investigation remains ongoing.
