Italian fashion academies launch initiatives for emerging talent
Italian fashion institutions are launching initiatives to support emerging talent and bridge the gap between education and the professional industry.
In Rome, the Accademia del Lusso and Università eCampus organized the ‘Fashion & Talent’ event. Director Laura Gramigna stated the format aims to provide visibility to young talents both locally and abroad. The event also addressed social issues, including gender violence, bullying, and cyberbullying, while awarding scholarships to local schools to help students pursue careers in fashion.
In Milan, the Ferrari Fashion School is launching ‘AFTER’, a project for alumni returning to the Fondazione Sozzani during Milan Fashion Week. The initiative showcases independent brands and capsule collections from 11 graduates, allowing for direct orders of the presented pieces. According to Director Anna Lottersberger, the project is designed to support graduates as they transition from academic training to navigating production, market positioning, and economic sustainability.
