Italian fathers report high levels of parental anxiety and involvement

A study conducted by the Pampers Observatory in collaboration with Eumetra has revealed insights into modern fatherhood in Italy. Based on an analysis of 3,000 parents across various regions, the report highlights a highly involved and emotionally engaged generation of fathers.

A significant finding is that 63% of Italian fathers fear they are not doing enough for their children. This figure rises to 72% in the Northwest, where fathers are noted for being particularly involved yet more self-critical. In Central Italy, 73% of fathers express concern regarding their children's well-being and growth in a complex environment, though this region also reports the highest level of satisfaction, with 90% stating they are happy to be fathers.

The survey also identified regional differences in parenting styles. In the Northeast, 56% of fathers believe parenting was easier in the past, and 46% utilize digital tools like smartphones and tablets to assist in child management. In the South and Islands, the data suggests a more pragmatic and confident approach to fatherhood.
