Italian Film Commissions Present Four Films at 83rd Venice Film Festival

The TorinoFilmLab will feature four projects at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, running 2‑12 September 2026. Three titles will debut in the Orizzonti competition – Tommaso Landucci’s feature I Figli della Scimmia, Jacqueline Lentzou’s A Day in the Life of Jo: Chapter Phaedra, and a third work – plus the film I Figli della Scimmia in the SIC – the Critics’ Week section. The programme is supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Region of Piemonte, the City of Turin and Creative Europe.

The Trentino Film Commission backs two additional works presented out of competition. Victor Kossakovsky’s documentary Holy Wood Dust, selected for the Open section, was filmed across Trentino locales and carries the Green Film certification for sustainability. The short Il senso della terra by Alessandro Ingaria and Simone Massi, entered in the Orizzonti Corti selection, dramatizes the plight of migrants lost in the Mediterranean and was produced by Trento‑based Abisso Studio. Both projects underline the regional commissions’ role in promoting Italian cinema on the international stage.
