Massafra hosts Bernardo Bertolucci film retrospective

The Vicoli Corti – Cinema di Periferia festival in Massafra is concluding its twenty-first edition with a retrospective titled ‘L’Anticonformista’, dedicated to the legendary Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci.

Starting September 17, the event will feature three restored films screened at the “N. Resta” Municipal Theater. The program includes ‘Prima della rivoluzione’ (1964), exploring political tension and bourgeois conflict; ‘Il conformista’ (1970), an analysis of fascism through striking cinematography; and ‘The Dreamers’ (2003), set during the 1968 Paris student protests.

The retrospective is organized in collaboration with the Bernardo Bertolucci Foundation, Cineteca di Bologna, Minerva Pictures, Rai Teche, and Viggo. Admission to the screenings is free.
