Italian film industry sees strong box office and TV viewership
The Italian film market saw significant activity during the weekend of September 24–27, with total box office earnings reaching 8,053,796 euros from over 1 million spectators. This represents a 48% increase compared to the same weekend last year.
In theaters, the re-release of ‘Avengers: Endgame Extra’ led the charts, earning 2,308,594 euros over four days. Other notable theatrical performances included the re-releases of ‘Titanic 3D’ and ‘Avatar’, as well as the docufilm ‘Ultimo – Tutto. Live a Tor Vergata’, which earned 1,397,018 euros during the weekend.
On television, the film ‘Io sono Carlo’, directed by Giacomo Campiotti and supported by the ‘Lombardia per il Cinema’ regional initiative, achieved high viewership. Broadcast on Canale 5, the film drew 4,269,000 viewers, capturing a 29.6% share. Notably, the film saw strong engagement among younger audiences, with a share of nearly 32.6% in the 15–34 age demographic.
