Italian finance police seize nearly 2,000 non‑compliant souvenirs in Lucca

The Guardia di Finanza in Lucca carried out an intensified summer‑season inspection at a souvenir shop in the historic city centre. Inspectors seized 1,994 items that lacked required safety and consumer‑information markings, violating the Italian Consumer Code. Among the seized goods were lamps depicting Tuscan monuments that were missing the mandatory CE conformity label.

The shop owner was reported to the Chamber of Commerce for the violations, and the confiscated products will be destroyed in accordance with legal procedures. The operation is part of a broader effort to ensure product safety for the thousands of tourists visiting Lucca each summer.
