Italian Finance Police seize thousands of unsafe Halloween products

The Guardia di Finanza has conducted major operations across Sicily to seize non-compliant and counterfeit Halloween merchandise. In Catania, authorities seized over 56,000 items, including 37,000 counterfeit goods such as plush toys and keychains, alongside 18,000 plastic products like masks and costumes that lacked mandatory safety information.

In Catanzaro, an additional 30,000 items were confiscated. These products, including masks and accessories, failed to meet legal requirements such as the CE marking, manufacturer details, and safety warnings in Italian. The lack of proper labeling poses potential health risks, particularly to children.

In total, the operations resulted in administrative fines exceeding 100,000 euros. The seized goods included counterfeit clothing from brands such as Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger, which were intended to deceive consumers regarding quality and origin.
