Italian Foil Class Championship begins on Lake Garda
The first Italian Foil Class Championship has commenced on Lake Garda, organized by Fraglia Vela Malcesine. The event features 107 sailors representing various nations.
Weather conditions provided diverse racing environments, starting with the morning Peler wind from the north at 15–18 knots, followed by the afternoon Ora wind from the south at 10–12 knots. These conditions facilitated multiple races across several categories, including Switch, Waszp, and Wingfoil.
In the Switch 8.5 class, Magnus Overbeck leads, followed by Mattia Cesana and James Percival-Cook. In the Switch 7.5 class, Antonia Schulteis holds the top position. Among the Waszp divisions, Elisa Bombana leads Division 6.9, Olivia Castaldi leads Division 7.5, and Mosè Bellomi leads Division 8.2. The Wingfoil fleet, consisting of 33 competitors, also completed six intense races.
