Italian food exporters showcase Made in Italy at New York Fancy Food Show

The 70th Summer Fancy Food Show opened on June 28 at New York's Javits Center, running through June 30. The trade fair, the leading North American event for specialty food and beverage, attracted thousands of buyers, importers and distributors.

Italy is the largest international presence at the show, with over 300 exhibitors representing regions such as Calabria, Campania, Sicily, Lazio, Puglia, Piemonte, Marche, Liguria and Sardegna. Italian products on display include pasta, cured meats, cheeses, extra‑virgin olive oil, preserves, baked goods, desserts, sauces, vinegars and other gourmet items. Representatives of the Italian Trade Agency, regional institutions and industry groups are providing meetings and training for U.S. buyers.

Bill Lynch, president of the Specialty Food Association, said American operators continue to recognise Italy’s authenticity, quality, tradition and innovation. Erica Di Giovancarlo of the Italian Trade Agency in New York noted that Italy remains the EU’s top food exporter to the United States and the third overall supplier despite a slowdown in imports. The event is positioned as a key platform for strengthening Italy’s agri‑food export relationships in the United States.
