Italian food recalls hit Ciauscolo salami and rice over contamination

The Italian Ministry of Health has issued a precautionary recall of a Ciauscolo IGP salami produced by Norcineria Alto Nera (lot 11/06/2026, minimum shelf‑life 10 Dec 2026) because testing showed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. Consumers are advised not to consume the product and to return it to the point of sale.

Separate recalls have also been announced for two rice products. A Carnaroli rice sold under the Tenca Colombo brand (lot 13022036, expiry 31 Mar 2027) was found to contain the insecticide tetramethrin above legal limits. An integral Roma rice sold under the Riso Vignola brand (lot 24102025, expiry 24 Oct 2027) tested positive for chlorpyrifos exceeding the permitted threshold. Additionally, a pasta‑and‑beans kit from La Fabbrica della Pasta has been withdrawn. Retailers and the Ministry urge shoppers to verify lot numbers and expiry dates on packaging and to return any affected items.

These actions are part of ongoing food‑safety monitoring in Italy intended to protect public health, especially vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, the elderly, infants, and immunocompromised persons.
