Italian food sector showcases at New York's Summer Fancy Food Show

The 70th Summer Fancy Food Show opened at New York's Javits Center on June 28‑30, 2026, attracting thousands of buyers, importers and distributors. Italy participated with the largest international presence, fielding over 300 exhibitors that displayed a wide range of products including pasta, cheeses, olive oil, cured meats, pastries, sauces and wines. Bill Lynch, president of the Specialty Food Association, said American operators continue to recognize Italy’s authenticity, quality, tradition and innovation. The Italian Trade Agency organized the Italy Pavilion, emphasizing that Italy remains the top European exporter to the United States and the third overall food supplier despite a recent slowdown in imports.

A regional delegation from Piedmont also took part, bringing 17 companies representing large firms and those linked to the Integrated Agro‑Food Supply Chain Project. Led by Piedmont President Alberto Cirio and Agriculture Assessor Paolo Bongioanni, the group was supported by Ceipiemonte and funded by the EU's 2021‑2027 Regional Development Fund. The presence aimed to strengthen market ties and promote Made‑in‑Italy food brands in the strategic U.S. market.
