Italian food supply chains focus on pediatric nutrition

The Programma Academy event in Sabaudia brought together 150 trainee pediatricians from across Italy to discuss the vital link between nutrition, professional training, and the food production system. The initiative focuses on leveraging Italian agroalimentary supply chains to ensure adequate nutrition for children.

During the event, Francesco Lollobrigida, the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, stated that the ministry is investing unprecedented amounts into Italian supply chains, from primary producers to distributors. He noted that many companies are returning to production within Italy to maintain high quality standards.

In a related industry development, the brand Plasmon is set to return to the Italian market in 2026 following its acquisition by NewPrinces. Ettore Prandini, president of Coldiretti, emphasized the need for a complete supply chain to ensure high-quality food is both produced and properly valued.
