Italian football clubs accelerate stadium and training‑center projects

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is moving ahead with plans for a club‑owned stadium on the former Q8 refinery site in San Giovanni a Teduccio. The proposed 70,000‑seat arena, slated for completion around 2027‑2028, would replace the current Diego Armando Maradona stadium and aim to boost revenue from hospitality, events and commercial activities.

Inter Milan, led by president Giuseppe Marotta, has launched an extensive upgrade of its training facilities at Appiano Gentile and Interello. The project will expand the Inter Training Center from 80,000 to about 90,000 m², add a new first‑team building called the “Power House,” and create a dedicated “Future House” for the Under‑23 squad, with additional pitches, medical and recovery areas, and hospitality spaces. Both clubs intend to strengthen their long‑term competitiveness in Serie A and European competitions.
