Sampdoria searches for new manager after Giampaolo deal collapses
Sampdoria is actively seeking a new head coach following the collapse of negotiations with Marco Giampaolo. Although a verbal agreement had reportedly been reached for Giampaolo to begin his third stint with the club, the deal fell through due to contractual complications. These issues reportedly involved the resolution of his contract with Cremonese and disagreements regarding the inclusion of his technical staff.
The club's decision to search for a replacement follows the dismissal of Bernardo Corradi, who was sacked after just seven matches in Serie B. Corradi's tenure left the team at the bottom of the standings with only one victory and five defeats.
With the Giampaolo deal stalled, the club is evaluating several candidates to lead the team through a difficult period marked by injuries and poor results. Current frontrunners include Michele Mignani, Luca D’Angelo, and Fabio Caserta. In the interim, Attilio Lombardo has been tasked with managing the squad.
