Italian football clubs promote inclusion and literacy
Football organizations in Italy are utilizing sporting events to promote social inclusion and cultural education. In Galbiate, the ASD Sala Galbiate 1974 football club organized an initiative where youth players entered the pitch alongside the first team to foster intergenerational connection. The club also participated in an event organized by PizzAut to support the inclusion and valorization of autistic individuals.
On a broader scale, the Lega Serie B has joined the #ioleggoperché campaign for the tenth consecutive year. This literacy initiative, organized by the Associazione Italiana Editori (AIE) with support from the Italian Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Education, aims to encourage reading and book donations to school libraries. During Serie BKT matchdays, children will accompany players and referees onto the pitch carrying books, using the stadium environment to promote cultural growth and community engagement.
