Italian football clubs pursue defensive transfers as Juventus and Napoli seek reinforcements

Italian football clubs Juventus and Napoli are actively pursuing defensive reinforcements during the summer transfer window.

Negotiations between Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain for the loan of goalkeeper Zion Suzuki have hit a setback. Despite previous progress, the deal stalled after the player reportedly did not accept the final project proposed by the French club. Consequently, Juventus has resumed its search for a new goalkeeper, with Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham emerging as a primary target, alongside other options such as Lens's Risser or Freiburg's Atubolu.

Meanwhile, Napoli is nearing a deal to sign defender Benoit Badiashile from Chelsea. Following a series of injuries to their defensive line, Napoli submitted a revised offer consisting of a loan deal worth 3 million euros plus 1 million in bonuses, including an increased purchase option of 27 million euros. The club is looking to bolster its squad after losing Juan Jesus and facing long-term absences from Marianucci and Buongiorno.
