Italian football clubs Roma and Napoli pursue key transfer targets
AS Roma is exploring the possibility of signing Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli. The club has initiated discussions with Roc Nation Sports, the agency representing the Brazilian player, to assess the feasibility of a transfer. While Arsenal may consider a sale, the deal faces significant financial hurdles. Martinelli currently earns approximately 11 million euros gross per season, and Arsenal reportedly values the player at around 50 million euros. Roma is attempting to negotiate lower wage requirements to make the move viable.
In separate news, Napoli has secured the signing of young Italian defender Costantino Favasuli. The 2004-born player has signed a unique long-term contract designed to protect the club's investment while allowing for performance-based extensions. The agreement initially runs until 2031, with the option to extend the contract one year at a time until 2034. Favasuli is expected to develop under the club's coaching staff to eventually serve as a deputy to captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo.
