Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani Highlights Ukraine and Middle East Security at NATO Meeting in Ankara

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani took part in a NATO foreign ministers meeting in Ankara, where he emphasized the need for coordinated European security responses. He underscored support for Ukraine, warned of continued Russian threats, and advocated for direct dialogue between Kyiv and Moscow with active involvement from the United States and the European Union.

Tajani also raised broader challenges, including the Middle East, migration, terrorism and illicit trafficking, and praised Turkey’s role in the alliance. He briefed allies on an Italian intelligence operation that identified Russian agents operating in Italy, stressing that an attack on one NATO member is an attack on all.
