Italian Foreign Minister Tajani Leads EU Talks on Ukraine Aid and Middle East Two‑State Solution

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani attended a series of high‑level meetings in Brussels and Paris, stressing Italy’s full support for Ukraine. In Brussels he reaffirmed backing for Kiev, urged tighter sanctions on Russia and measures against the so‑called “shadow fleet” that circumvents oil export restrictions. In Paris he joined the Coalitions of the Willing for Ukraine and for missile defence, focusing on coordinated military, energy and security assistance and on expanding European air‑defence capabilities.

Tajani also announced that Rome will host an international summit on 28‑29 July to discuss a two‑state solution for the Middle East, followed by a separate dialogue on Lebanon on 4 August. He highlighted Italy’s role in fostering US‑Iran dialogue, restoring free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and strengthening the EU Aspides mission in the Red Sea, while increasing humanitarian aid for Gaza.
