Italian Founders Fund closes at over €100 million, surpassing target
The Italian Founders Fund (Iff), a venture‑capital vehicle launched within Koinos Capital Sgr in 2023, announced a final closing of more than €100 million, well above its original €60 million target. In its two‑year operation the fund has already deployed over €40 million across 32 early‑stage startups, creating more than 1,000 jobs. The portfolio includes companies active in AI, robotics and compliance such as JetHR, Compri, Brum and ReportAid, as well as ten firms founded abroad by Italian entrepreneurs and four international companies that opened new headquarters in Italy with Iff’s support. Around 24 of the portfolio startups have attracted co‑investors from global funds including Y Combinator, Balderton Capital, Sequoia India, PayPal Ventures and Eurazeo. Partner Lorenzo Franzi highlighted the closing as evidence of the rapid growth and strengthening of Italy’s tech ecosystem, while founding partner Francesco Fumagalli described Iff as a “front‑line” engine for bringing emerging technologies to market.
