Italian goldsmiths showcase regional heritage through jewelry
Italian goldsmiths are utilizing jewelry design to promote regional heritage and cultural identity. At the Salone dell’Alto Artigianato Italiano in Venice, master goldsmith Giuliano Montaldi presented the ‘ARTEPARCO’ collection. This project, a collaboration with Paride Vitale, translates large-scale artistic installations from the Abruzzo, Lazio, and Molise National Park into wearable silver and enamel pieces, such as charms and pins inspired by local nature and art.
In a separate initiative held at the Italian Senate, designer Giovanna Iervolino presented her ‘GioJe’ collection, which focuses on the history and legends of the Gargano and Monti Dauni regions. Iervolino, coming from a family of jewelers active since 1958, uses contemporary design to transform the archaeological and cultural memory of her territory into symbolic ornaments.
