Italian golf clubs host tournaments pairing sport with wine promotion
Various golf clubs in Italy are hosting tournaments that integrate sporting competition with regional culinary and wine promotion.
At Golf Club Cavaglià, the Piccaia Golf Cup featured the works of artist Giorgio Piaccaia. Winners included Riccardo Ravizzotti Salice Terme for the first gross category and Stefano Olivieri for the first net category. The club is also organizing the Golf & Wine Championship, an event designed to highlight Italian excellence in food and wine, specifically featuring Erbaluce wines.
At the Circolo Golf e Tennis Rapallo, the Cantine Vitea – Golf and Wine 1895 competition was held. This initiative, promoted by winemaker Antonio Faravelli, aims to pair golf competitions with the promotion of Oltrepò Pavese wines. The event combined the 18-hole Stableford tournament with gastronomic offerings curated by the club's clubhouse staff.
