Italian Government Allocates Funds for Nocera Superiore Revitalisation and Campania Soil Cleanup
The Italian Prime Minister’s Office approved the final ranking of a historic grant programme aimed at redeveloping disused areas, allocating €1,464,798.12 to the municipality of Nocera Superiore in Campania. Vice‑President of the Campania Regional Council Giuseppe Fabbricatore thanked Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and other officials, noting that the funding will support urban regeneration, new services and construction on formerly idle land.
In parallel, Coldiretti Campania signed an agreement with the government commissariat and the Polieco consortium to begin cleaning agricultural fields in the “Terra dei Fuochi” area of the provinces of Naples and Caserta. The first operational day involved removing plastic sheeting and other waste, which will be recycled by Polieco. Coldiretti representatives highlighted that the initiative turns waste into a resource, reduces health risks for residents and aims to boost the local agricultural economy.
Both actions illustrate coordinated efforts by national and regional authorities to invest in environmental remediation and rural development in southern Italy.
