Italian-Greek Heritage Events Highlight Magna Grecia Artifacts and Archaeology

On 22 July 2026 the Ecomuseum of the Herakleia Archaeological Park in Policoro, Italy, will host the masterclass “Secrets of the Pharaohs”. Organized by Marateale, the event features renowned Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass, actress Laila Eloui and documentary filmmaker Jeffrey Roth, with opening remarks by local officials. The free programme aims to link the heritage of ancient Egypt with the Magna Grecia legacy of southern Italy and promote cultural tourism.

From 19 July to 30 August 2026 the Museum of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece, will present an exhibition titled “Inspirations. Ancient Greek Art living in Italy”. It showcases the gold diadem of Hera Lacinia from Capo Colonna and the bronze head of Apollo Aleo from Cirò Marina, alongside other Magna Grecia artefacts on loan from Italian museums. The show highlights the artistic exchange between ancient Greek and Italian cultures and is part of a broader Italy‑Greece collaboration on cultural heritage.
