Italy hosts widespread cancer prevention campaigns during Pink October

Across various Italian regions, numerous health initiatives and community events are being held to mark Pink October, focusing on cancer prevention and awareness, particularly regarding breast cancer.

Local health authorities (ASL) are providing expanded services, including free mammographies for women aged 40–49 in Oristano and mobile screening units in Avellino for breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer. In Basilicata, the AGATA association is hosting conferences and free ultrasounds for young women. In Venice, a pink procession on the Grand Canal promoted early diagnosis, while in Asti, the LILT organization is organizing a charity walk.

Community engagement is high through various symbolic and physical activities, such as the 'Passi in Rosa' walk in Vallefoglia and Martina Franca, and the 'Walk for the Cure' between Aquino and Castrocielo. These events aim to foster a culture of prevention, improve access to innovative treatments, and support patients living with metastatic breast cancer.
