Italian Health Sector Introduces Disability Training and New Rehab Director

The IRCCS AOU in Alessandria launched a training course titled “Synergy between operators and volunteers in disability” for nursing and socio‑health staff. Integrated into the 2026 training plan, the program aims to foster inclusive, person‑centred care for patients with disabilities, with volunteer associations serving as instructors. The initiative emphasizes listening and understanding patients’ needs, encapsulated in the motto “Imparare ad ascoltare e vedere.”

In Sardinia, Dr. Alfredo Deidda signed a contract to become director of the Hospital‑Territorial Rehabilitation Service of Asl Ogliastra. Deidda, a specialist in physical and rehabilitative medicine, plans to modernise the service through continuous staff training and advanced equipment such as the ProKin system for proprioceptive and motor re‑education. He noted that “the signing of Dr. Deidda represents a fundamental piece in consolidating our health network.”
