Italian historical complexes offer guided cultural tours

Various historical and architectural sites in Italy are opening to the public for specialized cultural tours.

In Pistoia, the Sant'Ignazio complex is hosting guided visits as part of the FAI Autumn Days. The site includes the Church of the Holy Spirit and an annexed college building. The complex features a secret urban garden and houses a significant musical heritage managed by the Accademia Gherardeschi. Originally purchased by Jesuit Fathers in 1641, the site served as an educational center for theological and multidisciplinary studies.

In Rome, the Archivio di Stato di Roma is offering free guided tours of the Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza complex. Designed by Francesco Borromini, the site is a notable example of Baroque architecture. The initiative, titled ‘Incontriamoci… in Alessandrina!’, allows visitors to explore the historic Sala Alessandrina, which was originally intended to house a university library commissioned by Pope Alexander VII Chigi.
