Italian hospitals implement infrastructure and service upgrades

Healthcare facilities in Italy are undergoing infrastructure upgrades to improve patient comfort and service accessibility. In Castelvetrano, the Azienda Sanitaria Provinciale di Trapani is upgrading the air conditioning system at the Vittorio Emanuele II Hospital, starting with the oncology department. To maintain climate control during the necessary system shutdown, temporary split units are being installed. Additionally, the Casa della Comunità Spoke in Pantelleria is expanding its ophthalmology services, adding six hours of specialist outpatient care on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays to better serve the island population.

In Tuscany, the Azienda USL Toscana nord ovest has allocated €48,500 to complete the air conditioning system in the surgery department of the Volterra Hospital. This investment aims to replace obsolete, energy-intensive equipment with modern, efficient, and sustainable systems. This work is part of a broader hospital modernization project that includes technological upgrades and energy efficiency improvements, such as the installation of thermal insulation to regulate building temperatures.
