Italian hospitals rank among world's best in specialized medicine

Four Italian hospitals have been ranked among the top ten specialized medical institutions globally in the ‘World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2027’ report, produced by Newsweek in collaboration with Statista.

In the field of obstetrics and gynecology, Policlinico Gemelli in Rome secured 3rd place worldwide. The Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital in Rome ranked 4th globally for pediatrics, making it the top-ranked institution in Europe for this specialty. The report also highlighted neonatology as a standout specialty for Bambino Gesù.

Other top-tier Italian rankings include the Istituto Neurologico Carlo Besta in Milan, which placed 8th in neurology, and the Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli in Bologna, which ranked 9th in orthopedics. In total, 42 Italian hospitals were recognized across 13 medical specialties. The rankings are based on expert recommendations, quality indicators, and patient-centered care measures.
