Italian hotels embrace smart automation and experiential wellness tourism

Italian hotels are increasingly adopting smart automation to improve guest experience and cut operating costs. Advanced domotics systems now allow guests to control room temperature, lighting, curtains and entertainment from touch panels or smartphones, while hotels benefit from reduced energy consumption and streamlined staff workflows.

At the same time, the Ambasciatori Place Hotel in Fiuggi is expanding its wellness offering beyond traditional spa services. Under the "Make Your Wellness" concept, guests can combine spa treatments with guided outdoor excursions, cultural visits and local gastronomy, showcasing the surrounding Ciociaria region. The initiative reflects a broader global trend: a McKinsey study cited in 2025 estimates the worldwide wellness tourism market at €785 billion, up 36 % from pre‑pandemic levels. Fiuggi’s approach aims to position the town as a benchmark for integrated, experience‑driven hospitality in Italy.
