Italian institutions engage with diaspora communities in Australia and Belgium
Italian institutional representatives are engaging with diaspora communities in Australia and Belgium to address consular services, citizenship, and upcoming Comites elections.
In Australia, the Italian Embassy in Canberra hosted a consular coordination meeting on September 25. Discussions focused on reforming the representation of Italians abroad and promoting Italian language and culture. The event also featured the inauguration of a photographic gallery documenting Italian Ambassadors in Australia since 1949, honoring the long-standing diplomatic history between the two nations.
In Belgium, Simone Billi, President of the Committee for Italians in the World of the Chamber of Deputies, met with various associations and citizens. The meetings addressed needs regarding AIRE registration, documentation, and representation. With nearly 286,000 Italians registered in Belgium, the discussions highlighted the importance of maintaining direct institutional contact with both long-established communities and newer waves of professionals and students.
