Artificial intelligence impacts digital heritage, music, and global policy debates
Various institutions and experts are addressing the multifaceted impact of artificial intelligence across different sectors. In Spoleto, the second edition of the Mondi Digitali conference will focus on metadata and AI in digital transformation, specifically examining how these technologies can protect historical memory and the ethical implications regarding data sovereignty and algorithmic transparency.
In the field of audiovisual arts, Cineartemusica is launching its fifth academic year with a focus on the role of the Music Supervisor. The school is hosting a workshop titled ‘The Augmented Composer’ in collaboration with the Bixio Academy and ACMF to explore the relationship between traditional orchestral writing and AI-driven film scoring.
On a broader scale, Antonino Sapienza, President of ESIDIA, has commented on the international debate regarding AI risks. He urges a distinction between concrete technical risks and catastrophic, science-fiction-like scenarios. Sapienza warns that alarmist narratives could paradoxically strengthen the monopoly of large tech companies by suggesting that only a few massive entities possess the resources to govern such powerful systems.
