Italian island festivals celebrate culture and street arts
Various cultural festivals are scheduled to take place across Italian islands in late 2026, focusing on community, migration, and street arts.
In Porto Ferro, the “Notti Isolate” festival returns on August 28. The event highlights the connection between Sardinian musicians, entrepreneurs, and cultural collectives, specifically exploring the theme of migration from the island. The program includes theatrical performances by Lello Olivieri & band, musical sets by Tziu Bobore, and a performance by the artist Shardàna, alongside electronic music from the Technoriano Project.
On Isola del Giglio, the second edition of the “IsolAzione” street arts festival will run from September 18 to 20. The festival features hip-hop culture, including rap, dance, and muralism, as well as street theater. New additions for this year include a focus on island street food in collaboration with Slow Food and an artist residency by Nora_Noralismo. The event also includes a unique DJ set on a sailboat and a project to transform an Ape 50 vehicle into a piece of art.
